I would rather watch KING Vivian Richards’ 153* in 130 vs Lillee-Thompson-Hogg at their deadliest in Aus at the MCG in ‘79 on a fast bouncy uncovered track without helmet and no rules favoring/protecting batsmen rather than this against shitty club-level bowlers in almost home conditions on the flattest track ever with tons of protective gear and a hundred rules favoring batsmen. Richards was by miles the greatest ODI batsman ever – past present future; Daylight second; We can start from No 3.
From the comments you have pitted into I can infer only one thing that you don the art of appreciating good works. I do agree Viv Richards is a great player but even he refereed our little master higher than wat you have referred to. Please try to appreciate some one’s credibilty and talent. Sachin always rocks!!!!!
has ponting ever faced a bowler f mcgrath’s class?? brett lee’s class?? warne’s class?? he has nt. Tendulkar has mudered such bowlers time n again… dnt compare tendulkar wid ny body… hez been living upto d expectations f 100 million 4rm past 20 yrs.. no such cricketer has been under so much pressure…n performed considerin dat… so dnt compare tendulkar wid nybody…
s’mon
dont talk about ponting
i know hez great too,but is there any match where there was a situation like “if ponting is out,the match is goin to be lost”
but that was the situation for most of sachin’s career……and cricket is a religion in india and u cant even imagine the pressure, hopea and expectations sachin carries on his shoulders everytime he comes out to bat on the ground
you are partially right but you have to remember that there was a time when tendulkar gone means India out of the game and many of his good knocks was not converted to match wining knocks bcoz later batsmen failed to do their part and India lost and I think opening is the most challenging position in one dayers bcoz the ball is hard, new and swings a bit at the beginning as the match progresses it’s become easier to face it.
Tendulkar has played less match winning knocks than say the likes of Inzimam, Ponting, Steve Waugh, Desilva, Azhar and in the past Javed Miandad. Tendulkar is a run accumulator, which is helped by the fact that he is an opener. Check Tendulkar’s record as a middle order batsmen in one dayer and then compare him with the likes of Inziman and Ponting then you will know who is great. As a batsman, Tendulkar is great, but LARA IS BEST of his generation, miles ahead of Tendulkar.
Ane xcellent inning of complete dominance, this kind of batting may not have many parallels in odi cricket.Even those days umpires used to be extra kind to him,he got a bad decision.
one can’t dream of playing a better innings..
he realli let loose after he got his 100…
it wud b interesting to c that tendulkar.. in today’s 20/20 without all the injuries…
the first ever 10over a side game was played in new zealand against india 6years back.. n in 10overs.. tendulkar scored 94…
