according to the rules a referee cant blow the full/half time whistle when there is a scoring opportunity, only during neutral play. so really it shouldve been 3-2 (at least)

kalac got unlucky with croatia’s first goal. Just a brilliant free kick. However he was very poor the rest of the match, goalkeepers need gametime and match practice like everybody else and he had very little leading up to that match.

the kewell shot that was saved at point blank range by pletikosa was as fortunate as can get. 9 times out of 10 that would have been in the back of the net.
