    Thanks for all your support for Australia. I’m currently studying in China and I heard about this bushfire on the news. I phoned my parents and luckily they were alright, they live in Queensland and the fire did not reach them.

    SORRY to hear about the number of deaths.

    the cfa ground crews couldnt do much againts the winds, they did there best but that was a freak event lets pray we never see it again :( an its hard to back burn do u no how many towns in vic r close to the bush it just cant happen :(

  15. Did the CFA save any houses at all? I think using ground crews would be like pissing in the wind with fires like these and the best bet would be to build containment lines, use water bombers and back burn. Its a shame with all the collective information on fires obtained from around the world that they could not predict at least some idea that the wind could change and wipe a town out. Lets hope we learn from this fire and implement a better system for all concerned like an early warning system.
